The building of the Hotel Lyon-Mulhouse as well as n°2, 4 and 6 of boulevard Beaumarchais have been built on the site where the writer had his particular hotel..
This particular hotel has been constructed on the embankments of Canal St.Martin a channel that permit to join the north-east of Paris to the Seine by the maritime way.

The Hotel Lyon-Mulhouse has been in existence since 1920. The Breakfast room was a restaurant and the reception desk a coffee shop. In conclusion our establishment is 80 years old and the successive landlords -who are only to the number of four- have always considered this hotel as
belonging to their family. It is a reason, since generations, one always made the necessary to improve and to renovate this hotel, because the goal remained unaltered since 1920 : To satisfy our guests who they are tourists or businessmen.

We undertook the complete renovation of the rooms In march 2006 in order to add a little parisien style and to offer air-conditionning in all our rooms.

The name of Lyon-Mulhouse was given to the hotel because in the old days the stage-coaches to Lyon and Mulhouse were leaving from the Place de la Bastille near boulevard Beaumarchais.

It should be known that in our district at n°10 of boulevard Beaumarchais there was the " Pacra Concert" that was up to 1968 the Olympia of the time.. Charles Aznavour made his beginnings there!

In front of the hotel is " Le Marais " an historic district of Paris.

It should be known that the first castle of Kings of France was " rue des Tournelles " just opposite the " Jean Beausire "street. It was wooden built and burnt down. Nowadays there is no trace left .

It is in the street of Saint Antoine that the Duke,of Mongomery was wounded to death during a tournois with King of France Henri II whose daughter married the futur King of France Henry IV ( Nearby the hotel there is a boulevard named Henry IV).

The Place des Vosges was the Place Royale. It was given the name of Place des Vosges during the french Revolution because the Vosges department had instituted a special tax for the Revolution.

The situation of our Hotel will permit you to travel in the history of Paris and France.

Our team will do its best to guide you and make your stay the most pleasant.
